About

2015:

I survived my first semester teaching.  Life moves on.

2014:

I started this blog a couple of years ago as I anticipated several potentially life-changing trips.  The first was being on staff in Kentucky for Appalachia Service Project, and the second was a field study outside of Kampala, Uganda.  These two points fit exactly into the trajectory of the college experience I pictured myself having, and I grew a lot through them both.  This blog has continued on (somewhat sporadically) as a self-glorified (yet honestly quite dry) chronicle of my experiences since those times, in addition to late night ramblings I thought to be profound at the time of their conception.  I’m now beginning my journey in education – I am teaching math at a high school in KY through Teach for America, which I’m sure will provide plenty of fodder for more midnight musings.

In hindsight, while these moments of change found through travel and education fit quite nicely on the line I envisioned for my life, the individual points of inflection which catapulted me into each opportunity were so random and unforeseen that I can no way take credit for where I am today.  And for that, I am profoundly thankful, because I never would have been wise enough to choose them by myself.
